2021-2022 School Year
Dear Parents & Guardians,

As we prepare to return to in class learning tomorrow for the 2021-2022 school year, we would like to take this opportunity to stress to everyone the importance of a few safety measures for riding the school bus. Parents/guardians are required to screen https://covid-19.ontario.ca/school-screening/ their children each morning prior to sending them to the bus stop for school.
Respiratory and hand hygiene remain critical mitigation strategies that limits the transmission of viruses. Students are encouraged to wash their hands thoroughly and/or use hand-sanitizer prior to going to the bus stop, and then sanitizing their hands again (using their hand-sanitizer) before boarding the bus.

We ask that parents discuss the importance of wearing a proper face covering while riding the school bus. It is mandatory that students in Grades 1-12 wear a face covering while riding the school bus. Although it is not mandatory for students in grades JK-SK to wear a face covering it is highly recommended and encouraged. Again, we urge parents to ensure their children are aware that wearing a face covering is required for the entire duration of the trip to/from school.

In addition to face coverings, students riding on all school buses within the District have been assigned designated seats. It is important students remain in their assigned seats only.

These measures are just some of the simple yet effective tools that can help in the fight against COVID-19. Our goal at the Rainy River District Transportation Services Consortium has always been to ensure safe transportation to and from school daily.
